Stefanie jay
Stefanie Jay is a seasoned executive and investor specializing in scaling high-growth digital businesses. She most recently served as Chief Business & Strategy Officer at eBay (2021–2024), where she established a new strategic vision for the company, led the acquisition and integration of five category-leading companies – including Goldin Auctions and TCG Player, and launched eBay Ventures, investing in strategically relevant industries and leap-frogging technologies, including commerce, social and digital media, AI and blockchain.
Previously, as Vice President & GM of Walmart Connect (2017–2020), she scaled Walmart’s digital and in-store advertising business ~7×, overseeing its transition to an in-house media model and establishing it as a top U.S. retail media business. Stefanie also led corporate development and strategy (2015-2017) for Walmart’s Global eCommerce division and served as Chief of Staff to its CEO. In this role, she led the strategic investment in China’s JD.com and $3.2b acquisition of Jet.com, strengthening Walmart’s global ecommerce leadership.
Stefanie spent 14 years at Goldman Sachs in investment banking roles across M&A, capital markets, and leveraged finance. She advised clients across tech, consumer, industrial, and healthcare sectors while mentoring emerging leaders. She currently serves on the boards of MiniLuxe (Chair, Governance & Compensation) and Criteo S.A. (Independent Director, Audit Committee). She holds a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University and lives in San Francisco with her husband and three children.
